The Arlyn School Faculty

Arlyn school's special education teachers are organized, patient, motivational, understanding of their students' needs, and accepting of differences in others. Our teaching staff is creative and ready to apply different types of teaching methods to reach students who are having difficulty learning and being successful in school. Communication and cooperation are essential skills found in our special education teachers. Our educational staff is willing to partner with stakeholders, including students, parents, public school faculty and administrators.

All Arlyn teachers hold at minimum a bachelor's degree and have completed an approved teacher preparation program and supervised practice teaching. Some teaching staff hold a master's degree in special education, which involves at least 1 year of additional coursework, including a specialization, beyond the bachelor's degree. All instructional staff have passed Illinois professional assessment tests in the primary subect they teach. Support staff include teacher aides and behavior specialists.
