The goal of Arlyn School is to provide structure, individualization and support to enrolled students and their families to facilitate their successful reintegration into the public school system, competitive employment and/or post-secondary education. Arlyn is committed to expanding students' awareness of the world and of their potential as individuals. Multiple systems including community, family and school form a partnership with the student to facilitate informed decision making and planning for the future. Arlyn's mission is to provide education, services and training that will be effective in helping young persons with disabilities achieve their goals of self sufficiency and becoming responsible adults
A comprehensive and challenging academic curriculum is enhanced by a full range of electives, fine arts, and extracurricular opportunities including art, music, physical education, foreign language, vocational and computer related courses. A holistic approach combining special education, behavior management and therapeutic intervention promotes academic, emotional and social growth and development within a safe and supportive learning environment.
Arlyn School is approved by the Illinois State Board of Education and is accredited by the North Central Association. All coursework coincided with Illinois State Learning Goals and Standards as well as local district requirements for graduation.
